All Abloom At Mount Vernon

Last weekend we toddled down to Mount Vernon, where we often find ourselves, and spring was springing all over the place.  The ground was an inch deep in mud, unsurprisingly – since it had been raining for days on end.  But more to the point, the upper garden was a riot of color and life.

The gorgeousness had to be seen to be believed.

Happy Friday, friends!  I hope you enjoyed these, and I hope you have lovely weekends ahead.

  1. How lovely! I adore peonies, especially fragrant ones. I have only two varieties in my garden. One is fragrant (“Bartzella”) and the other is not (something pink).

    • It was a beautiful day! I love peonies too, and the gardens at MV are always full of life at this time of year. I particularly love the brief moment when the garden is blooming and so are the trees – that was a couple of weeks ago, but Mount Vernon is gorgeous any time of year.
