I believe…

Pie is better than cake (and Grandma’s apple pie tops all).
Tea is better than coffee.
Sailboats are better than party boats.

Independence Day is the best holiday of all (yes, even better than Christmas – give me sparklers over twinkle lights).
Flip-flops are better than black pumps.
Books are better than television.
Wine is better than beer.
A woodstove (or fireplace, or campfire) is better than a thermostat.

Summer is better than winter, and fall is best of all.
Thunderstorms are better than mist.
Raspberries are better than strawberries are better than blueberries.
But any fruit dessert is better than chocolate.
Cobblestones are better than concrete.
Beach days are better than snow days (but both have their place).

What are your opinions?
I’m with you on a lot of these–tea is definitely better than coffee and books are better than tv–but all I can do is shake my head about a few others. Blueberries are the best berry. And what madness is this saying any fruit dessert is better than chocolate?! I will admit, a well-made pie is a sublime thing.
Ha! I’m not really a chocolate person – most people I know think that’s completely weird. I don’t dislike chocolate, but I’ll always choose a fruit-based dessert over a chocolate dessert. (Key lime pie or Mississippi mud pie? No brainer!) I will admit that a really good blueberry tastes like miracles, but raspberries are always going to be my berry.
I really love this post. It’s a sweet combination of so many “cozy” things. Beach over snow any day🌊 Raspberries😋 fireplace/wood stove🔥 fall no question🍂 I honestly don’t know if I disagreed with you on any of them!!
YES! I thought I was going to get pushback on a few – especially the Independence Day one, and the pie. Glad to hear there are so many of us on Team Cozy!
I second your YES!😊
Reblogged this on Three Cats and a Girl.
I agree with you on most of these! Tea is definitely better than coffee, fruit desserts are better than chocolate, raspberries are the queen of all berries, and books are better than television. I tend to prefer cake to pie, but then again, I have no doubt that your Grandma’s apple pie is probably better than cake!
I expected some pushback on the pie thing – ha! I do like a good Angel Food cake or a rustic, tossed-together family cake with a fruit base, but mostly I’m a pie gal. My grandma’s apple pie is really something special – she used to serve it with a wedge of cheddar and tell me “an apple pie without the cheese is like a hug without the squeeze.” She’s in assisted living and no longer baking pies, but I’ve dispatched my aunt to hunt down all of Grandma’s best recipes for me. I’m hoping to turn them into a cookbook. If I do, the apple pie will be a must!
Love this so much. Books + tea + raspberries + cobblestones forever.
I had a feeling we’d be of the same mind on quite a few – if not all! – of these… 🙂
